“Pain during pregnancy is common, but is not normal and does not need to be inevitable. “Pain-free” pregnancy is gained by regular prenatal massage sessions throughout pregnancy with a certified prenatal massage therapist. Through emotional support and caring touch, I will assist you in experiencing the joys and fulfillment of a comfortable pregnancy and postpartum experience.”

“During pregnancy a woman's body undergoes tremendous changes, and all in a relatively short space of time. These changes occur not only physically, but emotionally too. The overall goal of pregnancy massage is to help to minimize stress, promote relaxation and help prepare the muscles for childbirth. Massage during pregnancy can help to relieve lower back pain, Sciatic pain, tension in the neck and shoulders, tension headaches, calf cramps, insomnia, and swollen hand and feet.

Postnatal bodywork helps reposition the pelvis and spine after delivery. It also helps reprogram muscles and aids in realigning the posture to support the postpartum distribution of weight. Special massage techniques restore muscle tone to abdominal muscles stretched by pregnancy. It can help speed the healing of a Cesarean incision. Regular massage therapy can also alleviate neck and shoulder pain associated with breastfeeding and bottle feeding.

Infant massage has been practiced in many cultures since ancient times, and is now being rediscovered in the West. Clinical research has shown that positive, loving, nurturing touch has an important impact on an infant's development. Infant massage is something that every parent can learn - providing benefits to both the infant and parent. Infant massage can help promote bonding between the parent and infant, enhance the parents' ability to understand their baby's needs, soothe babies and help improve sleep patterns. It can aid digestion and help to relieve colic, gas, and constipation.” -Institute of Somatic Therapy

In-Home Prenatal & Postpartum Massage

Massage Therapy is often recommended by doctors and midwives to prepare moms for labor, childbirth and also as an important element to your postpartum healing.

And the best part is I now do House Calls!

All of my prenatal and postnatal services are offered in the comfort of your own home. I bring my massage table and supplies to you so that you can enjoy a well deserved maternity massage that suits your schedule. My clients love that they can just slip into their robes and relax afterward. Instead of having to worry about driving home or having to reenter the hustle and bustle of the busy world, they can choose to sink into a bubble bath or crawl into bed for a much needed restful sleep.

I also love traveling to local hospitals to help mamas on bed rest! Massages can safely provide great relief in most high risk pregnancy situations, provided you have discussed with your medical provider.
